La revue RESET. REcherches en Sciences sociales sur InternET est une revue scientifique semestrielle. Son objectif est de publier des études dans lesquelles Internet est apparu comme un terrain d’enquête utile et nécessaire à la compréhension de certains phénomènes sociaux.
La revue cherche ainsi à combler un vide dans le paysage éditorial francophone. En effet, si les recherches sur Internet sont en plein développement dans le champ des sciences sociales, et ont donné lieu à de nombreuses revues de langue anglaise, il n’existe aucune plate-forme éditoriale en France permettant de fédérer ces travaux autour des enjeux empiriques qu'ils soulèvent. Le caractère inédit de ce projet est par ailleurs renforcé par son optique pluridisciplinaire et internationale. Si la revue accueille majoritairement des articles relevant de la sociologie, elle est aussi une espace d’échanges avec des chercheurs d’autres disciplines des sciences sociales.

RESET. REsearch in Social science on the InternET is a semiannual scholarly journal. Its goal is to publish scholarly work which considers the Internet as an object of study or as a research tool useful for understanding social phenomena.
As such, the journal fills a gap in the landscape of French social science publishing, and perhaps in Europe. This appears to be of growing relevance given the increasing attention given to internet-related issues in social science and the fact that there are little possibilities for bringing together work on the empirical and theoretical implications they raise. The novelty of this project is also strengthened by its multidisciplinary opening and international scope. The journal welcomes contributions mainly from within sociology, but it is also thought of as an opportunity for exchange with researchers in other social science disciplines.
